Ideas2007: Creativity Beyond Borders The Creative Imperative
Ideas2007 is a call for action to change perceptions and attitudes to creativity in the Middle East and Islamic world, in order to develop the foundations for the creative economy of the future. This 'change imperative' is relevant to all modern societies, whatever the degree of economic progress or social development. It is particularly pertinent in our own region, the greater Middle East. If we are to stand a chance in keeping abreast of advances in the realms of education, technology, design, communications, business, finance, public and private sector governance, we must embrace the creative culture more fully. Our goal is to demonstrate the huge opportunities of the new creative economy. To highlight the problems and to show that great rewards are within our grasp, and that the time to act is now.
One aim: To challenge perceptions across the region about creativity One message: That all cultures are capable of developing and nurturing creativity One strategy: To continually challenge for change through creative endeavour
We can only achieve these goals with the help, partnership and support of people, both inside and outside the region, with the vision to seek change through the creative process.
