Ideas2007:Creativity Beyond Borders The Creative Corps
This program section of Ideas2007 will be devoted to developing an online creative interactive dialogue amongst people of all ages, but with particular focus on the young. We invite any individual, group, organisation or educational institution in the greater Middle East and North Africa region (including Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, Transcaucasia, Malaysia, Indonesia) who is interested in furthering the cause of creativity in the Islamic world to become engaged. Other people and regions are also welcome to join the Creative Corps with contributions of focus and relevance for this region.
The Creative Corps platform is designed to stimulate debate amongst all nationalities and age groups interested in the subject of creativity and the creative economy. This is intended as the kernel for a regional creative blog. Advocacy and cultural activism of a constructive nature is welcomed as a basis for this online forum seeking creative change in the greater Middle East and Islamic world. Subjects like: How to extend the bounds of creative freedoms? How can education become an engine for creative change? What role do culture, religion and tradition play in the development of the modern creative economy? These are some of the important briefs being framed for debate in the open online forum.
An online Gallery will also be developed to highlight selected works from regional creative talent, wherever they may reside, in the fields of creative design, graphics, advertising, architecture, photography, illustration and cartoons.
You, too, can be part of an exciting and challenging journey, seeking to foster ways and means to manage creative change in the Islamic and Arab world. To stay updated, register your interest now.
